Separated by popularity, Lynette sits alone at the far end of the cafeteria. A loner for good reason, but to her classmates that makes her weird and unapproachable. Curious about Lynette’s mysterious solitary ways, popular athlete Troy takes an interest in her. He tries to connect with Lynette but then realizes he may have gotten more than he can handle- Tales of the Text presents “Deadly Crush”.
KISHA
Ugh, why don’t she just go sit in
the bathroom or something.Kisha’s friends all turn to look at Lynette.
TROY
Damn, Why does she bother you so
much?
Troy chews his food.KISHA
Question is, why don’t she bother
you?Troy looks over at Lynette who is staring out the window.
Seconds later, Troy gets up.KISHA (CONT’D)
Excuse me, and where the hell you
going?Troy ignores Kisha and walks over to where Lynette is
sitting.
His sneakers against the floor make a sticky sound.
Lynette is dressed in all black with with several piercings:
eyebrow, lip, nose and several up the ear.TROY
What’s so interesting?
Troy sits down. Kisha and her friends do not approve.
LYNETTE
(confused)
Uh…I think you got the wrong
table.
Troy chuckles.
